MAIN POINTS OF THE AGM:


- PRESENT

- THE MINUTES of the 44th Annual General Meeting held on Thursday 20th April 2017 were presented to the meeting and then accepted as a true and correct record.

- BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE 2017 MINUTES
: NZ Masters Swimming will no longer sanction the swimming events at the NZ Masters Games held in Whanganui but will continue to sanction the swimming events when held in Dunedin. Roskill Masters would like to host more events but pool time at the Cameron Pool is limited. NZMS swimmers are eligible to set NZ Masters Swimming records after residing in New Zealand for six months.

- MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 2018 - No increase in fees

- ALLOWANCES AND HONORARIA - These were approved by the meeting and the only change was for the Computer Officer.


- APPOINTMENTS - The current officer’s positions were endorsed.

National Recorder – vacant
Computer/IT Officer – Liz Davidson
Masterscrawl Editor – Liesl Ploos Van Amstel
Openwater Swimming Officer – Mike Bodger

NZMS also pays an annual fee of $200 to Aquatics New Zealand, who oversees all aquatic divisions in New Zealand. Our representative from Masters Swimming is Roger Eagles (FV5) and Roger will continue in this role for 2018

- SWIMMER OF THE YEAR 2017
 - Swimmer of the Year: Julie Gunthorp (NS1) who swims in the female 70-74 years age group

- NZMS CHAMPIONSHIPS: HOSTING 2018
South Island Short Course 2018 – Ashburton
North Island Short Course 2018 – Whakatane

- OTHER BUSINESS - Postal Swims. These are poorly supported and Masterton Masters Club would like to administer them. The meeting agreed to this proposal. 

Constitution: The contents of the document were discussed, and changes have been made regarding the new calendar year. The amended document will be added to the Information Manual.
