How to Stay Motivated this Winter

Are you struggling to stay motivated this winter?   Here are some tips to help you stay on track during the cold months.

  • If you've had a hard summer season, give yourself a few weeks break.  Your mind and body will love you, but don't get too comfortable
  • Have a training plan, set goals and visualise your summer swims 
  • Swim with a friend
  • Plan to participate in some pool events 
  • Swim in the day if you can, don't leave it until the evening
  • Treat yourself  to something new such as a new swimming toy or suit
  • Try new things and switch it up. 
  • Reward yourself after each swim with something yummy like a hot chocolate
  • Join a swimming group
  • Choose a bad habit to destroy this winter
  • Stay connected to the swimming world via facebook and blogs
  • Look after your health and remember to wrap up warm
  • Most importantly remember to have fun
